Shake Your Tail Feather — Modishly Mackenzie

When I heard that feathers were one of the top spring trend predictions, I was truly ecstatic!! I had been seeing a few pieces here and there while online shopping that definitely intrigued me. Also, I don’t know if you guys have seen those dresses where the bottom looks like a completely feather-filled skirt, but I have always thought those are TO DIE for, so I feel like my feather inspiration has really been brewing for some time.

I wore the first look to brunch, which included a white, super-cropped long sleeve top, with feather details on the ends of the sleeves, boyfriend jeans and a pair of statement booties. I LOVE these Jeffrey Campbell houndstooth booties— I bought them during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, so I got them for such a steal! The purse I raved about from Amazon also made an appearance 😏

The next look was a little edgier. Band tees are still having a moment with me, so as a way to make the feather lined skirt less dressy, I wore a Billy Joel rocker t-shirt. I paired it with an oversized jean jacket and bold, red sock booties. The vibe I was going for with the shoot location was retro, so driving by Checkers (yes, the fast food chain 😂) my friend Katie and I were like YES, the black and white checkers are iiiiiiit.
