Skincare Routine: Eyes
Hi everyone! Skincare is extremely important to me, so I decided I’d do a little series, over time, on specific categories. This could be anything from morning or nightly routines, to favorite masks or sunscreens, etc.
Today I’m going to break down my favorite eye creams, serums & retinols that I incorporate into my eye care routine, whether day or night. My eye care routine for the AM is just a simple, hydrating/anti-aging cream. That’s it! Nothing crazy. For my PM routine, I use a serum and a retinol. I break down my favorite products below.
Trish McEvoy Beauty Booster Eye Serum: I got hooked on this a few years ago, because my cousin Cait works for Trish! She is such a beauty guru, and obviously since she’s familiar with the brand and had nothing but positive things to say about this serum, I of course took her advice! The ONLY con would be that it is a little pricey. But they sometimes have cute little kits too for a steal (which I always fall for) and it may be included.
Drunk Elephant Shaba Complex Eye Serum: This one is my favorite, tbh. I do use both the Trish one and this interchangeably, but I prefer this products packaging (it’s a pump instead of a dropper), consistency (it’s more creamy) and price (less expensive!). Read more about my opinion on Drunk Elephant products here.
Kate Somerville Retinol Firming Eye Cream: If you’re in your 20’s, it’s time to start using retinol to prevent wrinkles. It helps with diminishing fine lines and loss of firmness. This product has never failed me— literally. I looked back at my Sephora account to see when I purchased this.. it was LAST November. Like November 2017. I use this every single night!!! Well, probably 95% of nights. And it has not run out yet! That’s crazy. Hope retinol doesn’t have an expiration date 😳 So if you think it’s too expensive, just know that it lasts forever.
Bobbi Brown Hydrating Eye Cream: I use this in the morning. It makes make up apply so perfectly, unlike any other eye cream I’ve ever used! My eyes feel so moisturized, so there’s no tugging while I put on my make up.
VIIcode T2 Oxygen Eye Cream: This product is a new one I’ve been trying out for a couple weeks now. It not only hydrates, but also helps fight wrinkles too! Such a smooth application. If you like fragrance free skincare though, this may not be for you— it has a faint scent due to the elderberries, which are a highly praised anti-oxidant. Use my code ‘MACKENZIE’ for $5 off any purchase!
So that’s my eye care routine! Super simple. You really only need three products to start preventing aging around the eyes. What are your favorite eye products or brands? Drop them in the comments below!
