Quick Weekend in NYC
Hi everyone!!
I’ve been more than lacking on getting out content for the month of September, so my apologies 🥴 I had been feeling a little uninspired. But I missed the feeling of my fingers typing away on the keyboard, so here I am!
Last weekend, I did a quick little trip to New York to visit a friend. Alana is also a blogger if you want to check out her page! With Covid still being a very real thing, I knew that my visit would be more low key. I personally love that type of vacation. I got to explore the things I’ve never made time for in all of my many trips to NYC, like tourists traps I’d usually opt out for, and also have a little more downtime. You know how there’s the go-go-go type of vacationers and the relaxing vacationers? I’ve truly always been an in between, so I was more than ok with a balanced weekend! It was nice to visit the usually hectic locations now when the city is less busy. We just ate like queens and chilled with her new puppy, Dante! My body was craving travel, to feel the normalcy of flying in an airplane again ✈️ so this trip was much needed.
Keep reading below for details on all the places we stopped at!
On our first day, I finally visited the Brooklyn Bridge. I’ve always wanted to take blog pictures here, I feel like it’s just such an iconic location. This was one of the places we were so grateful for less foot traffic. Not only did it make us feel more comfortable to be avoiding a sea of people, it also helped out with more aesthetically pleasing blog photos 😜 such a beautiful spot. It’s a nice thing to cross off your bucket list and be able to say you’ve been.
Alana made us a reservation at Scarpetta’s on Friday night. It’s a super high end Italian restaurant. New York is actually only allowing outdoor dining at the moment, so we ate outside, but they had such a cute set up. It had adorable garden vibes, with string lights everywhere and pretty pink flowers. Highly recommend getting their classic spaghetti and the lemon sorbet/prosecco drink! It actually came out in little carved out lemons 🍋 soooo cute. We actually coordinated our outfits a little bit that night since we have the same boots in different colors!
NOMO Kitchen and Roey’s were the two brunch spots we hit. NOMO Kitchen also has an amazing outdoor garden set up, and it’s very spacious so there should be more availability for reservations. Actually two of my best friends live in New York, so on Sunday I went to Roey’s with my bff from elementary school, Maddie! This was in the West Village, which has a lot of cute shops, so after brunch we walked around and stumbled across the Something Navy store. I hate to say it, but I was honestly underwhelmed. I didn’t see anything in there that enticed me. The set up was definitely creative though. There was a cherry blossom tree in the middle and almost like an outdoor terrace, with ivy encasing the whole wall.
Another touristy thing I had never visited? Central Park. We walked through the park so I could get a feel of what it actually looks like, not just in the movies, lol. Took some outfit pics and saw the Trefoil Arch and the Bethesda Terrace + Fountain. It’s a nice way to feel some nature while in the city.
Other noteworthy stops on our food tour were Levain’s and Rubirosa. We went to SOHO to do one last outfit shoot, and strategically planned to get lunch and dessert. I have been DYING to try Rubirosa’s tie dye pizza and omg, I can tell you it 10000% lived up to the hype. That was really the best pizza I’ve ever had. We stopped at Levain’s after to try their famous cookie. Another thing that was totally worth the hype… but maybe not my diet 😂

So that’s it! Lots of eating, lots of puppy cuddles and a couple blog shoots. Sounds like the perfect NYC weekend to me 🖤
