Best Of: Denim Shorts
Hi cutiessss. I needed to add a new post to my ‘best of’ series, so I decided on a category I get a lot of questions on: denim shorts.
Below is a curated list of shorts I’m constantly rotating. I did organize this list in order from my most favorite, to least favorite. BUT, keep in mind, I do truly love them all. I think they all have unique qualities that make them each a good choice, especially for different occasions!
I want to start out with the AGOLDE Parker Vintage Cut Off Shorts, because these are my absolute FAVORITE. They’re a great length— on the shorter side, but still make you feel well covered. They’re high waisted. They aren’t so tight that they ride up or are uncomfortable when you sit down. They are truly the most comfy pair of denim shorts I’ve ever owned! I know looking at the price tag, they may seem too expensive.. but I promise you this pair of jean shorts just hits different. Pretty much every AGOLDE pair of shorts I’ve tried, I have loved. I also like the Pinch Waist Shorts and Jaden High Rise Shorts. I styled the last two in my most recent blog post here if you’d like to see a visual of them on. You can see the Parker style on in this blog post. The brand overall runs a little bit on the large size, so I would recommend either sticking to your true size so they’re more of a relaxed fit, or sizing down one size if you want them to be tighter.
I searched soooo hard for the Levi’s 501 Mid Thigh Shorts, so when I finally found them in my size I was ecstatic. And let me just say, they did not disappoint. They aren’t too hyped up in the slightest. These are much more affordable than any pair of AGOLDE denim, at $70. They’re kind of in between a bermuda length and a regular “short short” length. Truly the perfect happy medium! And there’s just something about a pair of classic Levi’s with the back pockets and label that I love. This is the style I have on in the above photos.
Abercrombie has a couple styles I love as well. The High Rise 4” Short, Curve Love Ultra High Rise Mom Short, plus the Curve Love High Rise Mom Short are my favs! Say all those names 10 times fast. I also found that their Curve Love Mid Rise Boyfriend Short is almost identical to the AGOLDE Parker style. But since I already have those and they’re so similar, I returned that one. Really good dupe though for like 1/3 of the price. I would compare the High Rise 4” Short to the Levi’s mentioned above— VERY similar in length, I think Abercrombie’s may be a little bit more form fitting though. The Ultra High Rise Mom Short is unlike any pair I own. They go up higher than my belly button, which is soooo perfect for those extra cropped tops. I don’t like showing too much mid-rift, so having a pair with more coverage in that area is just what I needed. Every pair is $59, but Abercrombie puts them on sale pretty frequently, too.
Another good option is always Vici! I have this pair and another pair that are unfortunately sold out. I’ll keep an eye out though and update this post if they ever come back in stock. They are constantly adding new styles and fits, and don’t always restock previous ones, but all their denim shorts are the same quality and right around the same price point. I included this pair because they’re fully in stock and look super cute. Vici’s items always sell out quickly though, so that could change before we know it! I didn’t take mirror pictures with these ones, but if you check out my ‘try on’ highlight on my Instagram, you will see them on. They’re usually priced right around $40-$50.
Those are all my favorite denim shorts— let me know if you have any specific questions on sizing or quality, I’d love to help 🥰
